Controversies as Cameroonian ‎die of strange ailment in Bayelsa

Controversy continued to trail the death of a 37year old Cameroon national who was confirmed dead in Ogboinbiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa after suddenly falling ill with suspected strange ailment and died in his lover’s home.

The Cameroonian, names withheld, was a patent medicine dealer‎ and popularly referred to as “Doctor” by indigenes of the community, died on Monday night.

While some indigenes of the community claimed the Cameroon national died after a reported sex romp with his lover who is an Indigene of the Community and aged 35 years.

Others claimed the man was ill from an unidentified ailment, slumped‎ and died before he could rushed to the only medical centre in the community known as Zia-Ngo health centre.

A community source told our correspondent that though the corpse of the Cameroonian has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, “the death is a mystery. Everyone heard he was ill but nobody can confirm if they had sexual intercourse which triggered the death.”

Already, indigenes of the Community have filed a complained at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Oporoma, the council Headquarters.

The Divisional Police Officer has however led other officers on a fact finding investigation to the community.
Contacted on the‎ development, the spokesman of the State Police Command, Asimin Butswat, confirmed the incident.
He said the preliminary report handed to the police claimed the deceased died of natural cause, “the report indicated that he was ill and slumped. But he was said to have died before getting to the community health centre.”
