Cleric urges Nigerians to continue praying for Buhari, nation

A cleric and senior pastor of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ogudu Expressway Cathedral, Ogudu, Lagos, Superior Senior Evangelist Olaleye David, has urged clerics all over the country to continue to pray for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari and for peace, unity and progress of the nation, especially during this trying times.
Olaleye made the call at church during an interactive session with journalists on the state of the nation and Celestial Church of Christ, worldwide at 70.
According to him, “What Nigeria and President Buhari need at the moment is prayer. We clergy, especially, have to pray hard for the betterment of the country, because Nigeria is our own and we cannot leave it for any other one,” he stated.
Adding that, “In any form we can talk to God and for Him to answer our prayer for this nation to remain one and for all forms of atrocities in the country to remain a thing of the past,that is what Christian clerics and Imams are supposed to do,” he added.
Likening the Nigeria’s situation to the City of Nineveh, the cleric said, “I believe like that nation of Nineveh, when they were full of sin and God was not happy with them, He sent Prophet Jonah to them to repent of their bad ways. And when Jonah delivered the message to them, the people hearkened to the voice of God and repented. Their deeds were pleasing to God and He changed His mind and forgave them. I believe with our prayers and others, God being a merciful father, I belief He can listen to us,” he maintained.
While promising to elevate CCC Ogudu Expressway Cathedral better than he met it by the grace of God, he maintained that the only recognised Pastor of the church worldwide, Reverend EMF Mobiyina Oshoffa, has laid down a programme every month, with a day set aside for Celestial faithful to gather at the Holy City at Imeko, Ogun state, to pray for peace, unity and progress of the nation.
“This we have been doing and will continue to do until we achieve our aim because it is when the Celestial Church is at peace that the nation will experience peace too,” he said.
