Christ Holy Church Honours Prince Ubunama On Mothering Sunday

The Women Fellowship of Christ Holy Church International Karu District in Abuja last Sunday honoured an Abuja based Real Estate tycoon Prince Austin Ubunama with a Human Development and Exemplary Leadership Award.
The award was bestowed on Prince Ubunama on the occasion of the 2018 Mothering Sunday celebration which witnessed several well organised activities staged by the Women Fellowship of the Church, also known as Odozi Obodo or Nation Builder.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Times after receiving the award, Prince Ubunama said he came to church that day like every other Sundays without any idea of what awaited him.
“I was surprised when they announced that I have been nominated for this honour. I never expected it. But then I dedicate it to the glory of God and and honour of our Lord Jesus Christ,” Prince Ubunama said.
According to Ubunama, it has become natural for him to give as a way of appreciating God for His benevolence upon his life as well as helping the people in need, as nothing else gives him greater joy anymore. “It has become a natural way of life for me. I give, because it is service to God and it gives me great joy,” he stated.

Daily Times asked if there was any particular event or point in his life that triggered his desire to dedicate the rest of his life to God’s service and the Prince recalled, emotionally.
“I have been subjected to certain life difficulties and challenges that I never thought I was going to come out of. But God delivered me and gave me victory. So I decided that if God can answer when I call upon Him, why not dedicate my entire life completely to His service and care,” Prince Ubunama concluded.
Speaking on the choice of Prince Ubunama for the award, the leader of the Women Fellowship, Deaconess Mrs Linda Eze said the Real Estate investor has demonstrated exceptional Christian attributes, including availing himself as a strong pillar in the house of God.
Mrs Eze gave the reasons through the spokesperson of the Women Fellowship Mrs Nneka Anene. According to her, the Church cannot forget the contributions of Prince Ubunama to the progress recorded in these past years both in the overall development of the Church and empowerment of members, among other areas.
“It is the duty of women to take stock of what happens in the church from time to time. And we found in Prince Ubunama steadfastness, faithfulness in the things of God and contributions to human development. I can tell you that majority of the young boys in this Church today are under his employment.
That sort of empowerment is very important to the women. He is always available when the need arises both in the development of physical structures and other areas as the case may be,” Mrs Anene explained.
Earlier in his sermon, the officiating priest, Rev. Pastor Austin Eze said women are important to the body of Christ and household of God and therefore should be honoured and celebrated.
Ministering under the theme “Making Yourself Available for Service,” and quoting extensively from Mathew 28, Mark 26, Luke 24 and John 20, 21, Rev. Eze explained that it was very significant to the Church that Mary Magdalene and the other women went to the tomb that early morning of Jesus resurrection for which Jesus himself appeared and spoke to them first, before the male disciples.
He therefore admonished the congregation to be ready and available all the time to receive and respond to God’s call for their service, assuring that there is great reward by God for those who made sacrifices for the sake of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Highlights of the occasion include worship songs by Adoration Group and the Church choir as well as dances by different women groups and Beauty pageant staged by women, among other activities.
