Charter House Apologises to Sarkodie
Events management company, Charter House Ghana, has profusely apologized to award winning rapper, Sarkodie for erroneously announcing in a radio commercial that he would be performing at the 16th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). A statement signed by George Quaye of Charter House explained that two promotional advertisements were recorded; one with Sarkodie’s name and another without but their Media Manager sent the wrong advertisement which had Sarkodie’s name. Clearly an error which they have totally admitted. A day after the VGMA industry awards, Sarkodie took to twitter to express his outrage at the event organizers in a series of tweets. He accused Charterhouse of taking him for granted by using him to attract audience to the show. He narrated that he had been approached by Charter House to perform at the awards show but it was later agreed that he will no longer perform because they could not afford to pay him. Despite prompting Charter House over the wrong advertisement which was running, no steps were taken to rectify the problem and the event organizers vehemently denied that the said advertisement was being aired. However, Charter House says it takes full responsibility for the mishap and promised that measures have been taken to avoid a repetition of the problem.
