Buhari’s victory: ‘Nigerians have chosen integrity rather than corruption’
An All Progressives Congress (APC), chieftain in Abia and former House of Representatives member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia at the green chamber, Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka said the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari is due to his integrity.
Speaking in his Afara country home, the former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly expressed excitement that Nigerians heeded the call “to ensure that President Buhari is re-elected in his integrity which he personifies”.
Ohajuruka described the victory as “victory of integrity over corruption”, adding “President Buhari has character and that is why we chose him. Our generation will tell our children and generations to come that there was a time to we had a choice to choose between integrity and corruption and we decided to choose integrity”.
The president, he said got more than the required minimum votes in Abia and express3ed his happiness that that “our efforts were not in vain” to bring Abia in the mainstream politics in Nigeria.
He assured that in 2023, the south east will give the presidency a throw, but we need to be in the mainstream in politics”, stating that having won, Nigerians are expecting “good governance from the president, better infrastructure and unity of the country”.
He urged the president to “work hard and unify Nigeria the more as we need that this time around”, and congratulated the Abia Central Senatorial District senator, Sen. Theodore Orji over his victory at the polls last Saturday.
