Buhari youth group holds victory party in Awka

It was a celebration of pump and circumstance as some Nigerian youths under the auspices of Buhari Youths Organisation (BYO), Anambra State chapter held its victory party for President Muhammadu Buhari.
The event which took place in Awka attracted various stakeholders in All Progressives Congress, as well as youths across the 21 local government areas in the state.
BYO is a youth group created to ensure the victory of President Buhari in the last general election in Nigeria, and for continuous victory of APC in other elections.
Speaking during the occasion, Anambra State Chairman All Progressives Congress, Chief Basil Ejidike, said APC in Anambra and South East in general had tremendously improved on their voting strength, as compared with other elections.
Ejidike noted that the APC was determined to reclaim its political mandate in Anambra and other states.
“We want to reposition APC in Anambra State. We have put every machinery on ground. We have set up a fact-finding committee to ascertain the problems of the party on the state.
“The committee will come up with a recommendation for further implementation. We are planing APC summit, where all issues will be resolved to form one indivisible party in the state,” Ejidike said.
The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ike Ekwensi, stressed that the essence of the event was to celebrate the victory of the party over the last general election.
While describing President Buhari as a great man and a true lover of Nigeria, Ekwensi advised Igbos to join the moving train of APC, to enjoy adequate democratic dividends.
On his part, former Commissioner for Information, Chief Jerry Amilo, said the President Buhari’s victory was worth celebrating despite all challenges, vis-a-vis sentimental vice president candidacy of PDP.
“This party is only true party with love for the nation. Igbos should come together as a formidable force to drive political agenda.
“Nigeria was found because of the efforts of an igbo man, Zik, who fought for the unity of Nigeria.
After the unification of Nigeria, the founding fathers told their tribes what to do to remain relevant. All tribes adhered to the advise except Igbos.
“But Igbos have refused to adhere to Ziks advice of one Nigeria, which is proper involvement in politics without segregation. We must support the government at the center to enjoy every political rights.
“We cannot achieve anything through the window. We have to move to the larger majority to effective representation.
“We should come home and invest. Igbos have the fastest growing developing economy in the world. We will succeed if we form a nation and speak with one voice”.
The Youth Zonal leader, South East, Mr. Odu Olisaemeka Onyeka, commended the people for their doggedness in the last election irrespective of PDP sentimental force.
Onyeka called for proper review of political zoning formula and allocation of the remnants presiding positions in the National Assembly to South East.
He recalled that APC in the South East played a major role in delivering President Buhari, an improvement from the previous elections.
The Coordinator BYO, Comrade Olisa Okanmelu, pointed that one of the reasons behind the formation of the group was to ensure involvement of youths in Nigeria politics.
Okanmelu observed that President Buhari had affected the lives of the people, especially South East, positively.
“Before the emergence of President Buhari, Igbos were marginalised, but today, we have a pride of place in Nigerian politics.
“Right now, Buhari is heavily constructing the second Niger Bridge, the
Federal roads in the South East, and has completed Ziks mausoleum, he added.
He assured continuous support to the president to maintain the tempo of development he had commenced.
