Buhari working to fulfill his campaign promises, APC chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Samuel Adeleke, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration, noting that the administration was working assiduously to fulfill its campaign promises.

Adeleke added that it was challenging for the administration because it met virtually all sectors of the country in a comatose state, while public treasury was looted by the previous administration.

Adeleke, who is the chairman of the APC in Kosofe, stated this in an interview with The Daily Times, stressing that the party was aware of its campaign promises to Nigerians and that he was optimistic that within the shortest possible period Nigerian’s would begin to feel the impact of the administration’s policies.

On allegations that the APC, rigged the recent local government election in the state, as made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party chieftain denounced such insinuations,

noting that the PDP was dead in Lagos and that it was the party who was the master in rigging elections, judging from the outcome of the last Ekiti State governorship election.

He said “APC is trying to put the country back in its right footing, we have not failed yet, what you should know is that the country was messed up in virtually all sectors, that was the problem we inherited and we cannot solve that over night, they should be patient with us.

“They messed up the country, look at the way they are treating Nigerians abroad, it is really bad.

“The PDP has no rational for saying that we rigged the local government election, the PDP that has no bearing, it is them that are the masters of rigging, when they rigged the Ekiti election did we say anything?

We won the election and in Kosofe here that I know, people voted for our party. Can’t you can see what the governor is doing here in Lagos?

Adeleke also expressed his agreement with the decision of the National Assembly to grant local government autonomy, noting that it would help improve governance at the grassroots level.
