BUHARI SWEEPS AVIATION INDUSTRY; SACKS MIMET DG, NCAT RECTOR

Owing to gross decay orchestrated by administrative misdemenure, and the ongoing restructuring in the aviation industry, President Commander -in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, Tuesday approved the following appointments, to
replace newly sacked and former heads of regulatory agencies and institutions in the aviation industry.
This sudden changes, is however targeted on ensuring an efficient running of the industry according to a release issued by the Permanent secretary in the Transport Ministry Alhaji Sabiu Sakari on behalf of the Minister of State for aviation Senator Hadi Sirika.
The Minister, it could be recalled over the weekend made an inspection tour of the Aviation and airport facilities at the Northern part of Nigeria to ascertain the level of work ongoing.
In the recent appointment, Captain Fola C. Akinkuotu is new Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency(NAMA).
Captain Akinkuotu is a seasoned transport pilot, flight and aircraft Maintenance engineer, airline chief executive and a trained aviation industry egulator; Professor Sani Abubakar Mashi, is new Director-General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) A Professor of Geography with specialty in Environmental Application of Remote Sensing, Professor Mashi is currently a Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Abuja. He replaces Dr. Anthony Anuforo.
Captain Abdulsalam Mohammed is new Rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT)Zaria. He is an alumnus of the College, Captain Mohammed is a renowned civil aviation trainer and examiner with accreditation by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and the Federal Civil Aviation Administration, replaces. Captain Samuel C. Oladele.
Also among the new appointee is Engineer Akinola Olateru, Commissioner, Accident investigation Bureau (AIB) Engineer, Olateru is a trained air accident manager and certified safety officer with aircraft maintenance engineering licenses in Nigeria, USA and the
United Kingdom.
