Buhari seeks unity in Guinea Bissau
President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to political leaders in Guinea Bissau to embrace unity and avoid any act that could plunge the nation into further crisis.
Buhari who spoke, on Monday, while receiving Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Guinea Bissau, Mr. Modibo Toure, at the Presidential Villa.
President Buhari decried the lingering political crisis in the West African country.
A statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,, Mallam Garba Shehu quoted Buhari as saying, “they must accept responsibility for leadership to stabilize their own country”.
He added that it was only the country’s political leaders and not outsiders that can effectively resolve the political crisis in the country.
