Bishop Elekwa tasks Abia youths on service to God
Newly inaugurated local government executives and youth wing of the Abia State chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have been charged to put in their time, resources, and energy among others in the work of God.
Inaugurating the newly elected bodies at Holy Ghost Day Bible Church, Umuahia, recently, the PFN Chairman in Abia State, Bishop Chikezie Elekwa, reminded them that leadership is all about service and as such, they must see themselves as servants (Serve Ants), serving like ants.
His words: “Leave everything you have aside and serve as an ant. Ants do not have leaders yet they do their work without supervision. They understand the time and season”.
Bishop Elekwa thanked God for choosing the new executives to be in the lead, pointing out that no government exists except God supervises it and reminded them that whoever is elected to occupy a seat, is designed for a purpose, which God gave His approval and as such should not disappoint God.
He pointed out that God looks up to them to defend His name and serve Him with all their heart, adding that his administration will not hesitate to remove those elected at the local government level who are underperforming.
Speaking with our reporter, the Abia State PFN Secretary, Rev. (Dr.) Blessed U. Amalambu, said the inauguration bestowed on the new LGA executives a great responsibility, a call to serve God and humanity.
He charged them to be more committed to their new assignment as it is a selfless service which demands their time and resources.
Rev. Amalambu, who also called on them to follow the instructions of God, counseled them to strive to live a holy life.
He equally called on the brethren to always pray for the new executives as they have forces to contend with, just as he encouraged them to pray fervently and commit themselves to God.
Interacting with journalists shortly after the inauguration, Vice Chairman of PFN, Umuahia North L.G.A, Rev. Kenneth C. Wiper, said having been inaugurated, they are set to sanitise Umuahia North.
He said: “We are set to bring sanity in the state both spiritual, physical sanity in the area of orderliness, cleanliness and economic sanity as it regards to management”.
He charged the newly inaugurated executives to hate evil as it will assist them greatly to produce the desired results.
On his assessment of the Abia State PFN chairman, Rev. Wiper said: “Bishop Elekwa has set a pace which the past chairmen did not set. He has come down to the grassroots to feel the pains and pulse of the people unlike the past leaders of PFN in the state who work from a distance”.
