Bauchi records 394 crime cases, arrest 748 suspects in 5 months

The Bauchi state commissioner of Police CP, Sani-Omolori said 394 criminal cases were recorded in Bauchi, resulting to the arrest of 748 suspects.
The CP who stated this while briefing journalists in his office Thursday, pointed out that the development was recorded within five months, since his assumption of office on March 28th 2025.
According to Aliyu, during the period under review, the command recorded tremendous successes in crime control in Bauchi state.
“Since my assumption of duty as the 46th Commissioner of Police, the Bauchi State Police Command has remained steadfast in addressing crime and criminality within the state”, he explained.
The CP noted that the command under his watch, the command has executed its responsibilities with professionalism, and strong emphasis on effective intelligence gathering.
According to him, considerable challenges were faced but the tenacity, dedication, and commitment of his officers have been instrumental in sustaining a relative peace within the State.
The who attributed the successes to guidance and directives of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, said the cases and arrests recorded were linked to various criminal activities within and beyond Bauchi State.
The CP said 57 cases of Armed Robbery were recorded, resulting to the arrest of 113 suspects.
CP Aliyu who revealed that 78 cases of Culpable Homicides were recorded, leading to the arrest of 171 suspects, further disclosed that 14 cases of attempted Culpable Homicides also led to the apprehension of 24 suspects.
CP Aliyu said the command arrested 16 suspects in 7 grievous Hurt cases, while 44 rape and indecent cases resulted to the arrest of 72 suspects.
The police commissioner added that 4 kidnap cases resulted in the apprehension of seven 7 suspects, whereas, theft and other forms of stealing recorded 20 cases, leading to the arrest of 37 suspects.
He said cheating by false pretense had 117 cases, resulting in the apprehension of 106 suspects, and mischief by fire recorded two cases, with 3 suspects arrested.
CP Aliyu also said two cases of forgery of currency notes were recorded, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, while 29 suspects were arrested in a 9 recorded cases.
Others he said include two cases of unnatural offences, leading to arrest of two suspects, and other criminal cases recording 30, with 54 suspects arrested while 20 cases were charged to court.
The CP explained that “10 cases are under investigation; six (6) cases were successfully convicted with ten (10) suspects”.
He said, exhibits recovered during the period under review include 1 pump action, 1 motor vehicle Camry model, 1 Volkswagen, 1 Mercedes Benz C180, one Wagolf, 1 Volkswagen Vento 1 Keke Napep and 1 TVS motorcycle.
The rest according to the CP are, 1 Bajaj motorcycle, 4 Plasma TV, one Laptop, 1 Axe, 60 bags of illicit fertilizer, 1 touchscreen Laptop and the sum of N38,000,000 (thirty-eight million naira.
The rest are, 1 Techno Spark, 1 Infinix HOT, reasonable quantity of Electric Cable valued N200,000, three iPhone Pro Max, 1 Samsung galaxy, 23 bags of Cement, 90 bags of pepe, 1 Ipad Techno and P.O.S machine (Monie point).
