Barca set to sign Seri

Barcelona are reportedly close to signing Ivory Coast midfielder Jean-Michael Seri. Reports reveal Barca are expected to complete a move for the Nice player in the coming days.

The Elephants man has a €40m buyout clause which the Catalan giants will take advantage of, with Seri’s arrival expected to edge veteran Andres Iniesta closer to the exit door.

However, the player himself is keeping mum on any potential transfer, instead focusing on performing for Nice.

“I’m not in contact with anyone,” he told reporters after the weekend’s win over Guingamp in Ligue 1.

“I focus on what I have to do. If my agents and Barcelona see each other and talk, I don’t know anything about that.

“If it happens, it happens. I’m still a Nice player today, and we’ll see what happens later.”

Nice host Napoli in a Champions League qualifier today, looking to turn around a 2-0 deficit from the first leg, and Seri said: “It’s not the time to think about it.

“There are a lot of things to do, notably our qualification, and that’s the most important thing for me.”
