Atiku campaign train storms Taraba, pledges to complete Mambilla hydro power plant

The People Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate for February 16, election, Atiku Abubakar has pledged completing the multi million Naira Mambilla Hydro Power Plant, situated at the Mambilla Plateau of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, Atiku Abubakar made the pledge while delivering a speech on the occasion of Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Rally held Tuesday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo. Former Nigeria Vice President, popularly called Wazirin Adamawa, who frowned at the unfulfilled promises of the Federal Government led All Progressives Congress (APC) of completing and commissioning the Hydro Power Plant as promised, said they have failed Nigerians. While calling on Tarabans to massively vote for PDP at all levels during the elections, the PDP Presidential hopeful added that his administration will construct the Hydro Power Plant with a view to making electricity supply affordable to the State and Northeast zone in particular. He further disclosed that the lingering issue of insecurity bedevilling the Northern part of the Country and Taraba State will be addressed permanently. Atiku Abubakar however, cautioned the Military, Police and other security operatives from interfering in the electoral processes saying their assignments were to protect the lives and property of the people. Speaking earlier, the National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from making any mistake of rigging the forthcoming general elections. He said any attempt of playing pranks with the peoples mandate by way of rigging the said elections which according to him, may throw the Country into crisis, will be resisted. Uche Secondus emphasised that the mammoth crowd of Tarabans who attended the day’s campaign rally was an indication that Taraba is for PDP. Our Correspondent reports that the Campaign Rally which drew participants from all the Sixteen Local Government Areas and Two Development Areas of the State was climaxed with the handing over of PDP Governorship Flag for the election to the Party Candidate in the State, Governor Darius Ishaku by Prince Secondus and the reception of Decampees from other Political Parties.
