ASASA seeks direct foreign investment to Anambra State

Anambra State Association, South Africa (ASASA), has concluded arrangements to embark on a 10-day road show in the Anambra State capital, Awka, with the intention of creating awareness in the areas of Direct Foreign Investment to the state.

President of ASASA, Chief Onyekachukwu Onyeka who gave the hint Wednesday, said a planned road show billed to commence from 10th to 20th April 2017 would surely resolve economic and social challenges being faced by the businessmen, industrialists as well as educational sector.

According to Chief Onyeka, the event will commence with a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra and other policy makers of the state, adding that it will also help create truly sustainable environment in the state.

The ASASA President equally pointed out that the roadshow would include courtesy visit to the political stakeholders of the state, including the former Vice President of Nigeria Dr Alex Ekwueme, the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, Sports philanthropist, Dr Ifeanyi Uba, entrepreneur, business men and women among others.

“Most importantly our visit will target discussions with Governor Willie Obiano on the areas of direct investment from South Africa to the state. We will also use the opportunity to ascertain the progress of his achievements during the past three years”.

Onyeka who informed that ASASA had embarked on similar projects in the past said “we have done it before. We did it during Peter Obi’s administration and it was tagged ‘Fact Finding Mission’ “.

Other areas ASASA will address are in the areas of assisting Anambra State students through provision of university scholarship to 21 persons, each from the 21 local government of the state

Meanwhile, Anambra State Association South Africa (ASA-SA), formed 10 years ago is a rallying platform for Anambrarian living in South Africa. Since inception, the socio-cultural group has been contributing to the economic growth of the state through scholarships, mentoring and provision of social facilities in health, education and tourism sector.
