Army Boss Frown At Personnel Who Seek To Further Their Studies While In Battle Field

The Special Task Force Commander, in-charge of Plateau and some parts of Bauchi State, Major General Rogers Nicholas, on Wednesday warned STF personnel under his command, who pursue to further their studies while in battle field to refrain from doing so or face disciplinary action.
Gen. Nicholas stated this while addressing troops at Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, as he embarked on operational visit to the area aimed at foiling possible face off between Fulani herdsmen and farmers as the dry season sets in.
He said that the STF exigency of duty in Plateau and Bauchi States does not give room for such privileges.
According to him, “your mission here is to maintain and sustain peace, which means that, you cannot be on the battle field and be schooling at the same time.
“It will be wrong for you to be receiving welfare as soldiers on the battle field and at the same time, be playing truancy from your duties, with the excuse of furthering your studies”, he said.
The Army boss instructs that any STF personnel, who is caught playing truancy should be redeployed back to base as such soldier is not fit to be in the battle field.
