Appeal Court begins hearing of 250 appeals in Kogi today

The President of the Court of Appeal (PCA), Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, will today lead the appellate court to commence a special sitting in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.

During the special sitting which appear as an extraordinary feat, the appellate court will use the opportunity to further decongest about 250 backlog of appeals, including criminal, Civil and Human Rights matters.

A statement signed by Media Officer to the Court of Appeal, Sa’adatu Musa. Media, said after an inaugural ceremony, the sitting proper will commence immediately with the Justice Bulkachuwa sitting with the Justices of Abuja Division for two weeks in the Confluence State.

There are three Panels of which Panels 1 and 2 will in the next 14 days, trash out about 250 Appeals on Criminal, Civil and Human Rights Matters; while the Shari’a Panel which is the 3rd Panel, will hear the pending Shari’a Appeals.
