APC receives over 4000 PDP defectors in Bayelsa

No fewer than four thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Bayelsa state, on Friday, were received by the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The defectors who were largely from various communities from Southern- Ijaw Local Government Area of the state, were received at the Party Headquarters, in Yenagoa.
The former Governor of the state and leader of the APC in the state, Chief, Timipre Sylva, while receiving the defectors, said, after the recent primaries of the party in the state, some persons thought we will never be more united but to their greatest surprise we are moving for victory.
We are ready to show Bayelsans, Nigerians and the entire world that the state belongs to APC, adding that the forth coming election will be different from the last one where the party lost through the handiwork of INEC.
Sylva, also accused the security agencies of working with PDP to rig the past elections, noting that if the right thing is not done in the forthcoming elections, the party will not agree.
“INEC should do the right thing this time, unlike the last time when I was arrested by the DSS on the morning of elections. Our people were killed by the security agencies and branded names”
He also accused the current Government of stockpiling arms for the forthcoming elections in the state, adding that if arms are used during elections and the electorate are killed, who then will be governed.
He also emphasize that the current government of the state has borrowed so much despite receiving over one trillion from federal allocation since inception, adding that the only airport built by the government is the most expensive airport in the world.
Chief, Paris Digifagha, who led the defectors, said, he has been with the PDP for a long time nothing has been achieved, adding that today he has retraced his steps and has swept all this under- development away.
He also accused the PDP in the state of bringing darkness, no portable water, no markets built, and stagnation to the state, advising the people to forget about the PDP in the state.
