APC Forum endorses Nasarawa SSG for Senate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Stake holders Forum in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has endorsed the candidature of the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Muhammed Abdullahi to contest the Senate seat for the Nasarawa West Senatorial District come 2019 general election.

In a statement signed by the publicity secretary of the forum, Mr Idris Bature Ahmed, and made available to pressmen in Lokoja, the group said the leadership qualities and political dexterity of Abdullahi has endeared him to the people of the zone.

According to the spokesman of the forum, the people of Toto Local Government Area are fed up with “big for nothing” names that have been occupying the Senate seat without any dividends of democracy coming to the area.

“Though the people of this part of the state have been loyal and patriotic in the discharge of their civic responsibilities, despite nearness to Abuja, they lack federal presence in all fronts.

No electricity, no good road network and yet some people found their ways to the Senate through our mandate, but failed to give us quality representation,” Ahmed lamented.

The APC members said their decision to back the aspiration of Barr. Abdullahi was because of his closeness and openness to the people as against the present feudal and oligarchic style employed by the present representatives.

The forum comprised of ward chairmen, women leaders, youths leaders and elders of the party across the local government.

The forum resolved to work tirelessly to ensure the victory of Mr. Abdullahi and urged all the constituents in the senatorial districts to shun those that have used their position to enslave them.

“We will no longer succumb to intimidation by politicians who cherish bootlicking, hero worship and thuggery. We are also aware that money is being starshed for buying delegates and votes, but that cannot stop us from exercising our responsibilities.

“We are ready to go for politics of development and equal distribution of socio-economic amenities. We are for good governance and not patronising big names,” the forum assures

Idris Ahmed, Lokoja
