APC chieftain tasks Obaseki, Oshiomhole to speak out about crisis

Titus Akhigbe, Benin

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Charles Idahosa has denounced the silence of Governor Godwin Obaseki and the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, alleging that their relationship has broken down.

Idahosa, the former political adviser to Oshiomhole, asked the ex-governor to come out clean on the crisis rocking the Edo state chapter of the party, declaring that the silence of the ex-governor in the face of the crisis orchestrated by those who claimed to be his loyalists means consent.

“Edo is the home state of Oshiomhole who is the national chairman of the party. The Edo Peoples Movement has vowed to stop Gov. Obaseki from securing the party’s ticket for re-election.

Besides, the crisis has extended to the state assembly with 15 members-elect working against the party’s zoning arrangement.

“Gov. Obaseki came out to say he does not have problem with Oshiomhole and that such news is fake. But, Oshiomhole’s refusal to talk means he is supporting them.

“Oshiomhole brought Obaseki to us that he was his engine room during his administration and so far, Obaseki has not been rude. Remember the Igbinedions brought Oshiomhole as governor, but he will abuse Igbinedion the son in the morning and abuse Igbinedion the father in the afternoon,” he said.
