APC chieftain berates PDP over Chibok Girls’ comment, hails Buhari

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the release of 82 of the abducted Chibok Girls by Boko Haram terrorists.
Faparusi, a member of the seventh House of Representatives, also condemned the statement credited to the factional Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic
Party(PDP), Ahmed Makarfi, lambasting the APC-led Federal Government for releasing some Boko Haram detainees to bail out the girls from confinement .
The APC chieftain maintained that the comment, which he described as caustic and inflammatory, lent credence to the widespread belief that the PDP was incorrigibly insensitive and callous to lead Nigeria.
He advised Makarfi to look inward and contrive ways to resolve the hydra-headed intra-party squabbles that is tearing the party into shreds, rather than making comments that would expose his naivety and callousness on issues of governance.
The APC chieftain in a statement he made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti , on Monday said the hapless girls would have been rescued long ago from Boko Haram captors, if the immediate past government of President Goodluck Jonathan, had exhibited the kind of political will that President Buhari brought to the fore in dealing with insecurity in Nigeria.
“The APC government is virulently pursuing its anti-graft war and the litany of discoveries by EFCC about the looted funds by PDP chieftains corroborated the fact that the war has been effective and well prosecuted, unlike under PDP when there was looting spree, causing Nigeria a rickety economy.
“When President Buhari came on board, the release of the girls from Sambisa forest looks bleak because of the scenario painted by the inept government of President Jonathan. But today, the parents of these girls are beginning to see a ray of hope that there would be a reunion with their daughters someday.
“I want to salute the Federal Government for living up to expectation. Meeting the people’s expectations often reinforced their belief in government and imbue their sense of patriotism.
“With this release, Nigerians wherever they live can be proud that they have a responsible and responsive government in place that is ready to secure the lives of its citizens.”
Faparusi , however, described as unfortunate , the comment made by Makarfi lambasting the Federal Government for swapping the girls with some Boko Haram detainees .
He said: “This shows that the PDP has no lesson to learn despite its abysmal crash in 2015 elections.
The party is insensitive to the plights of Nigerians and what Makarfi did was an evidence that the PDP is a party that will never succumb to moral and political rectitude.
“The question to ask Makarfi and his ilk is that, would he have said this if his daughter was a victim? The PDP should stop playing dirty politics and come to the realisation that Nigerians can no longer be deluded by their antics, which nearly ruined Nigeria’s economy in the 16 years it was in the saddle,” Faparusi concluded.
