APC chairmanship: I can’t be intimidated by Oyegun, Oshiomhle – Aspirant

A National Chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Ibrahim Emokpaire has said that he cannot be intimidated by the ambition of any other aspirant especially the incumbent, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and the immediate past Governor of Edo State, Adam Oshiomhle
Officially declaring his intention to contest the exalted party’s position in Abuja on Saturday, Emokpaire said his ambition is not threatened by anyone but promised that if given the opportunity, he will end the “seeming intractable problems” that becloud the APC.
Emokpaire who stressed that he was not afraid of the big names and the moneybags within the party who are also interested in the seat, said that President Muhammadu Buhari had already given the ground rules which distressed money politics hence, he is unperturbed.
“My interest for the chairmanship of the APC was to work assiduously with party leadership to maintain discipline and peace maintain unity within the party hierarchy.
“I recognize the fact about the curiosity of certain persons in their usual permutation about who a regular guy should be or not be but am sorry to disappoint them because my mind is made up by the audacity to dare shift paradigm and alter the political status quo this time around , to affirm my candidature”, he said.
On the various crises bedeviling the party and how he will check them, he said: “My leadership will address the seeming intractable problems that becloud the horizon of our progress which are indeed traceable to the skewed priorities of some greedy and corrupt politicians.
“The good news is that the problems are man-made and not insurmountable but can be corrected sooner than later on my assumption of office.
“We are shifting away from money politics and President Muhammadu Buhari has already outlined what is needed. I will not be disturbed and distracted by the big names and moneybags that will be contesting, as I will remain issue based”, he added.
