ANSG rates Okagbue Primary Health centre high

Anambra State government has announced the selection of the first Primary Health Centre in Umunnachi, to be among the three pilot centres selected for upgrade, training and retraining of personnel.
The three Health Centres would be selected from the three senatorial zones in the state.
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this while commissioning Ogugua Chike Okagbue Primary and Maternity Centre, Nagbana, Umunnachi, Dunukofia Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The Ultra modern Health Centre was built single-handedly by a philanthropist, who is also the Deputy Chief of Staff as well as Chief Protocol Officer to the Governor.
Commissioning the edifice, Governor Obiano, who was represented by his Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, rated the aforementioned health care as among the three best out of the 575 health centres in the state.
Dr. Okpala mentioned that the health centre would offer modern health care and promote medical attention due to the sophisticated facilities in the centre.
“As I am talking to you, we have employed medical staff to offer qualify services to the people.

“Quality health care is obtained at the health centres. This is part of the vision of the present administration to ensure quality living, he stated.”
Dr. Okpala promised that the state government would partner Okagbue primary Health centre to further procure more sophisticated facilities, to meet global standard.
He called for regular medical check-ups to ascertain any health challenge and offer urgent attention, especially now kidney related issues were alarming.
The Chairman of the occasion, who is also the Commissioner for Women and Children’s Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, noted that the maternity would reposition the life of women in the area.
Lady Mezue stressed that prior to the maternity, pregnant women were facing various challenges during delivery periods, as some travelled distance to access urgent medical attention.
She pointed that the health centre would solve major health related issues, especially among the aged and children.
The Commissioner observed that the health centre would create employment in the community and promote healthy living.
On his part, the philanthropist, Hon Uzuegbunam Okagbue, said it was in fulfillment of his promise in 2017 to erect a medical outfit that would solve various health challenges for his people.
Mr. Okagbue, who erected the centre at his mother’s vilage, Nagbana, Umunachi, named it after her mother as a sign of honour to her.
He urged other meaningful individuals in the community to borrow a leaf and attract projects that would impact on the people positively.
A woman, Mrs. Ifeoma Offor expressed happiness, saying many women had died in the past for lack of access to good health.
