Video of Fani-Kayode attacking another journalist hits social media

Barely 48 hours after former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode made the headlines for verbally abusing Eyo Charles, a Daily Trust journalist, another video has emerged online showing the legal practitioner yelling and labeling another reporter “stupid” during his visit to Zamfara State.
Recall that Fani-Kayode had verbally attacked Eyo Charles for asking the source of his funding during his recent tour of some PDP states in the country.
Fani-Kayode claimed the reporter was sent by his political enemies to embarrass him.
He said, “If I had known that this is what you wanted to ask me, I would have asked you not to ask me that kind of stupid question.”

Like the Calabar incident, the ex-minister continued verbally abusing the journalist.
Even when the reporter tried to recast his question, he was prevented from doing so by a visibly angry FFK.
In what was a replica to the incident in Calabar, Fani-Kayode reminded the journalist that he has been in politics since 1990; served as a minister twice; been a presidential spokesman for 3 years and “was brought into politics by Marafan Sokoto, you understand me? Alhaji Umaru Shinkafi…” he said.
He continued, “I have been a leading member of the opposition, the resistance over the last five years.
“And a day has not passed that I have not spoken about what I felt was going wrong in this country. That is because that is what opposition is meant to do and is what was done to the PDP by the APC when PDP was in power. You understand me?
“Even for you to repeat that to me is insulting at my level,” the former minister told him.
“I will speak against Yari free of charge any day, anytime. I am FFK, do you understand me?
“I take on presidents, I don’t take on former governors. He (Yari) is an irritant to me,” he said.
Emmanuel Owabor, the former minister’s media aide confirmed that the incident happened in Zamfara State this month after Fani-Kayode was bestowed with a traditional title in the state.
He said his principal was justified in his action given the nature of the question the reporter asked.
“The reporter was asking why he (Fani-Kayode) was always against Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State; he was asking if he was sponsored or not to attack Yari,” Mr Owabor told Premium Times.
