Another ballot box snatcher killed in A’Ibom

Security agents monitoring the conduct of elections at a polling unit in Ikot Udo Ossiom village, Ukanafun Local Government of Akwa Ibom state has allegedly shot dead a ballot box snatcher.

A ballot box snatcher have allegedly been shot dead by security agents monitoring the conduct of election at a polling unit in Ikot Udo Ossiom village, Ukanafun council of Akwa Ibom state.

According to eyewitness account, the young man had earlier made attempt to snatch the electoral materials in the morning immediately it arrived the unit but was stopped by the security agents manning the polling unit.

Angered by the security agent’s action, the witness said the victim reinforced and returned to the unit to snatch the ballot the second time.

Irked by such effrontery, security agents in the area opened fire and shot him dead.

The corpse was still lying at the scene of the incident at the time of filing this report.
