AMBASSADORS sponsor surgeries, empower Nigerians Subair Mohammed

In its bid to continually provide succour to aching hearts and the rejected, The Counselling Ambassadors Organisation (TCAO) also known as ‘AMBASSADORS’ has sponsored medical surgeries and empowered financially some selected Nigerians.

This was revealed at the 9th annual praise worship concert, Berachah 2016 tagged ‘Victorious songs, victorious dance’ organised by the group recently in Lagos.

President of the organisation, Mrs. Regina Iyabo Obasa told our correspondent that the praise concert and empowerment programmes are in line with the vision of the organisation which is to provide succour in all respect to Nigerians especially the rejected and the hopeless, irrespective of race, tribe, religion, colour and gender.

In spite of the economic hardship and poverty in the country, Obasa said something has kept Nigerians going. “Between January and now, we are still alive full of hope that Nigeria will be better. This implies that we can sing a victorious song and dance to the most high God for His protection over us as a nation and as individuals which is why we organised the praise concert to boost the psychology and morale of Nigerians.”

Her words, “our mission is to lovingly provide solution to the over-burdened hearts. And to achieve this, over the years, we have counselled over 15,000, sponsored inmates of kirikiri maximum at the National Open University and over 100 people for entrepreneurial training in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria who assisted in setting them up in business. As we know that the future of any nation depends on the quality and how gainfully engaged the youths are. From this end, we have opened an ultra modern digital musical studio to support young and talented artistes and sponsored medical surgeries for many people both within and outside the country”.

For a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Desmond Elliot, Chairman, house committee on tourism, considering the present state of affairs in the country, Nigerians need to be encouraged.

While describing as unfortunate the tensed economic quagmire Nigerians are into, Hon. Elliot appealed for understanding and patience as he said the desired change would come in no time.

He said, “It is unfortunate that we are in this kind of situation in the country. But the truth is, if something is in a state of disrepair, putting it back to shape would entail a lot of perseverance and sacrifice from the affected persons. Of course, that is the stage we are in the country now. What is required of us as Nigerians is to keep hope alive and be patient to experience the change we voted for. Whatever difficulty we are facing today is for a short time therefore I appeal to Nigerians to be patient with the government as efforts are in top gear to fix the country.”

Amongst the beneficiaries present at the event was a diabetic patient, Mrs. Olayinka Dada whose surgical operation to remove her fingers was sponsored by the organisation but requires N7million for her daughter who was diagnosed of a brain disorder.

Others include Mrs Abimbola Olaposi, Mrs Godsgrace Immanuel, Temitope Olaoye, Mrs. Comfort Ojo, Okon Saviour, Mrs. Beatrice Onwuche, Mrs Elizabeth Elemoh, Mr Ayodele Josuah and a school teacher whose daughter has a retarded growth and would require N3.5million for treatment which has been aided by the Ambassadors.

The event featured performance by prominent gospel artistes such as Nathan Efe, Ayan Jesu gospel team, Omotola Sax, Howpraizteam and De horners’ band who thrilled the audience to soul-inspiring and life changing tunes.
