Alternate your tyres in six months, FRSC advises drivers

Drivers in the country have been advised to alternate their vehicle tyres every six months in the horizontal form, to ensure that they were regulated.
The Secretary to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps, Mr, Joseph Falana, gave the advice, in Abakaliki, during the Ebonyi Sector Command’s Tyre Safety Campaign.
Falana, who represented Mr. Osita Chidoka, FRSC Corps Marshal, at the occasion, said that alternating the tyres involved the front and rear tyres.
“This would ensure the smooth movement of vehicles, as the drivers should fix the front tyre of the driver’s side at the passenger’s position at the back side, while fixing the front tyre of the passenger’s side at the driver’s side of the back side.
He noted that the enlightenment covered stakeholders in the tyre Management, who inlcuded drivers, vulcanisers, dealers among other stakeholders.
Ebonyi State Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr Charlse Aborchi, advised drivers not to be deceived by the packaging of tyres, but insist on the tyres’ information before buying them.
