A middle-aged man, AfamuEzeyi, has called on the Anambra state government to save his life and that of his family members from persistent threat to his life and that of his family members in the hand of people suspected to be cultists.

Speaking on behalf of Afamu and his family, his Counsel and brother, Mr. ChukwudiEzeyi disclosed that he has fled his ancestral home in Ihiala, Ihiala Local government area in Anambra state of Nigeria. He said trouble began sometimes in 2013 when suspected cultists stormed their family compound Ihiala and killed Mr. Lambert Ezeyi, the father of Afamu.

He alleged that after the killing of Lambert, the cultists began threatening Afamu that they must kill him as they had killed his father. He noted that though, the matter was reported to the police but no arrest has been made because most of the cultists are operating outside the state.Chukwudi called on government to save his family from cultists, especially Afamu who has been penciled down for elimination.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on relevant agencies both local and international to save my younger brother from been killed by people suspected to be dreaded cultists. “Unlike before when target of cultists are their members who break their rules or supremacy battle with their rivals, many innocent people like Lambert and Afamu who did not have anything to do with their association are being killed on daily bases in Nigeria,” Chukwudi said.
