Alleged Ritual: Decomposed body of 60 year old woman found inside palm oil forest in Ondo
Ajisomo Lawson, a sixty year old woman declared missing in Ode Irele in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State has been found dead with her body already decomposed.
Mrs. Lawson was declared missing penultimate weeks ago after her journey of no return for a programme in one of the churches in Ode Irele Community.
The deceased was a member of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Ode Irele and was invited for a spiritual programme by one prophet Taiwo Elijah before she was declared missing.
Prophet Elijah was in charge of the Chist Apostolic Church (CAC) local branch of (OkeOluwa So EkunMiDerin) in Ode Irele.
Daily Times learnt from local residents that Mrs. Lawson was invited by Prophet Elijah from her village in Liseri to Ode Irele community for spiritual cleansing.
It was gathered that the cleansing could no longer hold and was cancelled due to reasons best know to the CAC cleric.
However, Prophet Elijah was alleged to have arranged a motorcycle to convey the visiting woman back to her village since the cleansing had been aborted.
Few hours later, Ms. Lawson could not returned back and was declared missing by the people of his community in Liseri.
Daily Times was told that a search team was set up to locate the whereabout of the missing sixty year old woman.
The team headed by local vigilantes was said to have found the lifeless body of the septuagenarian inside the big forest of the Irele Oil Palm Plantation.
A source among the team who pleaded anonymity while speaking alleged that Ms. Lawson must have been killed for rituals purpose due to the state of her
“By the time we located her corpse in the bush: her private part, breasts and two eye balls had been removed by the killers suspected to be ritualists”
The source said that frantic efforts were made by the family from the prophet to know the exact whereabouts of the 60 year old visiting woman to his church.
According to the source, the prophet had since fled the community when pressure was too much on him over the whereabout of the woman.
“As am speaking with you, till now the suppose man of God has ran away and had my returned to this area” the source further hinted.
Seyifunmi Lawson, elder of the children of the deceased gave a graphic details of how her mother was invited last week Thursday for a payer programme billed for Friday by Prophet Elijah in Ode Irele.
She explained that the programme was later cancelled by the cleric and asked her mother to wait till the next morning before proceeding back to the village.
“Mama (Ms. Lawson) showed interest to return to the village since she was not fully prepared to stay longer in Ode Irele.
“But, the pastor promised to arranged a commercial motorcyclist (Okada rider) to take her back to her the next day.
“Our mother left with the cyclist at about 7am on Friday and unfortunately she did not get back to the village” she added.
Femi Joseph, the police spokesman in Ondo state confirmed the incident when contacted by the Daily Times.
Mr. Joseph disclosed that it was not yet clear if Ms. Lawson was actually killed by ritualist following their investigation.
“For now, the police cannot established if the old woman was killed for ritual purpose because her corpse was already decomposed when it was found.
“So, one cannot conclude and say parts of her body were removed but we are awaiting the result of the autopsy to determine actual cause of her death”.
He revealed that the police have arrested a church member of the prophet who is currently at large.
Mr. Joseph said the arrested suspect might have connection with the death of the sixty year old woman
“The suspect is helping the command in our investigations to establish the real reason behind the death of the woman” the police image maker said.
