Alale emerges chairman of ANAP, FAAN branch

Comrade Alale Adedayo has been re-elected as the Chairman of Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) branch.

Alale was elected in a unanimous vote of confidence on him during the 2019 Election of Executive Members/Delegates Conference held recently at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

The motion to retain the former executive members of the association was moved by Comrade Ajani Akin Alamu and was seconded by Maureen Nweze. With the return of Alale as the Chairman, it is expected that he will be in charge of the union’s affairs in the next four years.

Others who were returned unopposed were: Adeyemi Adelegan (1st Vice Chairman); Bayei Zeacham (2nd Vice Chairman); Joachim AM (Secretary); Njoku Ik (Asst Secretry); Ajayi Queen (Treasurer ); Faith Erumere (Women Leader); Emmanuel Okon (Trustee); Ojo Sunday Adesola (2nd Trustee); Dayo Alowole (Auditor) and Sunday Awa (2nd Auditor).

Fabowale Ayoade (PRO); Tajudeen O (2nd PRO) and Akinlabi Rose (Ex-Officio) amongst others were also elected as part of the new executive.

Speaking shortly before the inauguration of the new exco, Comrade Alale said that in the past two years, the association has witnessed tremendous improvements in the areas of projects, training, membership drive, actualization of Conditions of Service, staff promotions and struggle against concession of the airports.

Stating that a new secretariat building with conference room has been commissioned by the managing director/CEO of FAAN, Engr. Saleh Dunoma, Alale also said that in FAAN alone, ANAP has attracted over 1000 registered members in two years.

On concession, he said “we made the Honourable Minister of State, Aviation realize the consequences of the concession and our position was made known to him.

Though the battle is not yet over but with the solidarity support of other sister unions, the struggle is still ongoing which by his grace we shall conquer”.

Declaring the delegates conference open, regional airport manager, Mrs. Victoria Shin-Aba commended the union for their struggles to protect the interest of the workers.

Shin-Aba said “I wish you all the best of luck. It is not for only the workers but for the betterment of Nigeria.

It is our duty to build the organization to an enviable position. We need human interface at the job we do, including the passengers and other stakeholders, so that at the end, our core value of safety will be brought to bear
