AITEO Cup Round of 32: All-Nnewi clash as Ifeanyi Ubah draws Feeder team

Defending champions of the 2016 Federation Cup, FC Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi have been handed an “easy draw’’ against the club’s feeder team in the 2017 AITEO Cup Round of 32.

The draws for the 2017 AITEO Cup Round of 32 were held on Friday night in Lagos with some interesting fixtures emerging in the process.

The Anambra Warriors, who emerged champions of the 2016 Federation Cup after beating Nasarawa United 5-4 via penalty kicks, are expected to have a somewhat easy passage into the round of 16 after being drawn against FC Ifeanyi Ubah Feeders.

Also, 2016 runners-up Nasarawa United were handed a mouth-watering tie against their premier league counterparts, Sunshine Stars of Akure.

Sunshine Stars who were eliminated 8-7 in the round of 16 via penalties by 2015 competition’s champions, Akwa United, will be looking to go a step further in the cup competition this year.Akwa United will take on the winner of the match between Yobe Desert Stars or Kano Pillars.

Meanwhile, Rivers Angels that won the female version of the 2016 Federation Cup have been drawn against Delta Babes.

The defending champions defeated Bayelsa Queens also 5-4 on penalties, while the runners up Bayelsa Queens were handed an “easy passage’’ into the round of 16 after drawing bye.
