Aisha Buhari jets back to UK

Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari on Sunday travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) where her husband has been on medical vacation since May 7.

Aisha, who only returned to Nigeria from London last Thursday, had maintained that her husband is recuperating fast and would soon be back to the country.

Upon her return to Nigeria last week, she proceeded to Owerri, the Imo State capital, where she attended the annual August Meeting organised by the wife of the Imo State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Okorocha.

But no official statement has been issued on the President wife’s Sunday trip unlike the practice in her previous trips.

The Director of Information to the Wife of the President, Suleiman Haruna, had in a statement on July 2, announced that the “Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha left for London, United Kingdom on Sunday, July 2, 2017, to visit her husband who is on medical vacation.

The statement reads in part, “She will convey to the President the best wishes of Nigerians and their fervent prayers for his quick recovery,

The latest trip makes it the third time Mrs. Buhari would be visiting her ailing husband since he left Nigeria for his second medical treatment.
