Airline Crash Results in Power Failure at Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia, Canada

A commercial Air Canada passenger flight is involved in an emergency. Star Alliance member airline Air Canada flight 624 arriving from Toronto in Halifax crashed on the runway at Stanfield International Airport (YHZ, Halifax, Nova Scotia) after midnight local time and slammed into a utility line.

As a result of this possibility the air terminal and airport is blacked out and without power.

Eye wittnesses report all crew members and passengers are had been evacuated off the plane. No serious injuries are visible, but some people seemed to have cuts.

Visibilty was poor, and heavy snow storms were reported at the time of landing
