AIG zone 9 strategises against criminals

 

The Nigeria Police Zone 9 formation has said that it had mapped out strategies to control crime in the area.

In his maiden address to newsmen in Umuahia, the Assistant Inspector of Police, (AIG) in charge of the zone, Yerima Irimiya Fyarah, said that although police all over the world continued to seek better ways and equipment for fighting crime, the zone had all it takes to wage a relentless war against crime.

Besides, he said that the zone had conclude plans to organise seminars and workshops aimed at sensitising stakeholders, while it had been holding meetings with warring parties in the zone for peace, especially with leaders of herdsmen and host communities.

Said he: “The zone is still strategising and will use resources within and outside to combat crime. We have advised our brothers from other states to be at peace with their host communities”, he said.

Towards achieving this peace, Fyarah, Commissioners of Police and Divisional Police Officers in the zone have been advised to also meet with stakeholders in their states and police divisions to sensitise them for peace, security and information.

He disclosed that he had been briefed by the Commissioners of Police in the zone on the menace of the Fulani herdsmen in the zone.
