Afinju Gallery showcase Olufemi Afolabi’s Masterpieces in London

A colorful story about culture, a certain period of time, a fragment of history, and a modern expression. Your heart skips a beat and sings when it strikes a chord with your soul and spirit.

Every piece of art honors African ancestry, whether it takes the shape of striking metropolitan patterns or unadorned countryside scenes.

African chiropteric painter Oluwafemi Afolabi was born in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, Nigeria. After completing his secondary school education, he made an informal entry into the field of art, but now he pursues it professionally after earning a bachelor’s degree in it. His long, unwavering pursuit of art has paid off, as seen by his unexpected rise to prominence as a painter whose works typically depict animal symbolism with striking allusions to mammalian chiropteran bats.

Essentially, Oluwafemi uses his art as a way to express himself, to reflect and mirror the unruly behavior in his community, and to show how much he values the natural world. For him, art is a means of advocating for social justice for the oppressed as well as a means of arresting and telling the many hidden stories of those who live on the other side of wealth.

His nonconforming life and still life paintings relentlessly work to inspire those who aren’t born with the proverbial silver spoon, guys who weren’t raised in royal courts, and people who weren’t allowed to be nursed in glass houses. He wants them all to believe that the unbiased Creator hasn’t forgotten anyone and that, if one keeps their chin up and hopes are sustained, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

He displayed all of this and more during the “Things of Beauty” event in London. Kofi Awuyah, Atinuke Badmus, Hamid Ibrahim, Yomi Momoh, and Tayo Olayode were among the other participants.

The exhibition, which is now accessible to the public, includes a wide range of masterworks from different artistic movements and media. Every artwork, whether it be a modern installation or a traditional sculpture, has been chosen with care to arouse curiosity and feelings in visitors.

The sheer variety and inventiveness on show at the exhibition has mesmerized the visitors.

The show includes interactive installations as well as artworks on display in an effort to captivate visitors more deeply. Visitors are urged to completely immerse themselves in the beauty that surrounds them through participatory art projects and virtual reality experiences.

“Things of Beauty” is a moving reminder of the eternal power of art to raise, inspire, and connect us all at a time when the globe is still dealing with uncertainty and turmoil.
