Ahead of their highly anticipated 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier against Nigeria, Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny is confident they will defeat Super Eagles in Kaduna.
The England-based Arsenal midfielder revealed that they are getting ready to meet Samson Siasia’s Eagles.
Hector Cuper’s men will first travel to Kaduna, Nigeria, on March 25, for the opening leg and will therefore host Nigeria four days later in Alexandria.
“I have a good feeling that we will be able to win the match. Nigeria is a good tough team but we’re good too,” Eleneny boasts.
“I also feel that I am surrounded by support from everyone encouraging us to win.”
Speaking about his Gunners teammate from Nigeria, Alex Iwobi, regarding the upcoming two-legged affair, Elneny confirmed that they did speak about it briefly.
“I told him that it will be hard for Nigeria to beat Egypt,” adds the player.
On the other hand, Elneny also weighed in on the conversation about the best footballer between Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Christiano Ronaldo saying Messi is the best.
“Messi is a unique football talent. Ronaldo is not a lot less than him but Messi is better without a doubt,” he claims.
Egypt is currently on top of its Group G with six points after beating Chad and Tanzania, while Nigeria is in the second place with four points.
