Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed confidence he will win a second term in the 2026 governorship election, saying the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot unseat him.
Speaking in Abuja after appearing before the PDP’s screening committee, Adeleke said his achievements in less than two years would secure victory.
“If I can defeat an incumbent, now that I’m governor, nobody can beat us,” he said. “I’m too popular. Anywhere I go, people love me.”
Adeleke dismissed concerns about federal might, saying he expected a free and fair contest.
“I don’t think the President will want to do something that will mess the administration up,” he said.
Screening committee chair Adebayo Adepoju said Adeleke’s documents were in order and that he “passed the screening” satisfactorily.
