Adamawa Policemen In Protest for Non Payment Of Two-month Salaries

Thousands of Policemen who collect their monthly salary from Nigerian Police Force Micro Finance Bank, Monday in Yola, besieged the premises of the bank demanding immediate payment of the two month salaries.

When contacted the spokes man of the command on the matter, the Police Public Relation, SP Othman Abubakar,declined comment, saying he is not competent to speak on the matter.

The Branch Manager,NPF Micro Finance Bank, Haruna Yusuf while reacting on the allegation said,the police authority has not remitted the funds meant for the payment of the salaries of the affected policemen to the bank.

According to him, police command in the state informed him,that the funds is with the budget office force headquarters Abuja,awaiting approval”

” I am just from the state police headquarters Yola,I was informed that,the funds meant for payment of the affected policemen is still with the Budget office of police headquarters in Abuja.

“As soon as the funds is made available to the bank,they would start getting their alert.

“That is the only information I know about the matter,you can go and verify”Yusuf explained.

Investigations revealed that,policemen in large numbers were affected in the state,while their counterparts from other banks have been collecting their salaries as at when due.

Reports gathered that,due to law interest rate on the credit facilities of the NPF Micro Finance Bank,attracted the affected policemen to patronize the bank.

The aggrieved policemen also, appealed to president Mohammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency use his Good office to intervene in the matter,saying their families are dying in hunger ,while school fees of their children has not been paid.
