Activist threaten to mobilize communities to shut down coy

The Udu communities of Aladja, Orhunwhorun and Udu in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, has threatened to drag Premium Steel & Mines Limited (PSML), formerly known as Delta Steel Company, to court if it fails to build, furnish and equip as well as provide a 30 Seater bus to government primary schools in the area.
The communities issued the threat through a rights activist, Comrade Ighoteguolor Bezi.
Comrade Bezi denied insinuations that PSML built, furnished and equipped health facilities in its domains in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to its host communities.
He called PSML’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Peasants Mishra, a ‘liar’ for making dishonest claims.
The activist said “PSML did not build a health facility neither did it help in renovating the only health centre in the community.”
He also refuted the claim that a 30seater bus was provided by PSML for the community primary school, adding that children go to the school on bare feet.
Comrade Bezi threatened to mobilize, the women, youths and children of the communities to stop PSML from operating in the area if it fails to make available the facilities it claimed to have provided.
“We will mobilize the women, youths and children to block the company’s gate if they don’t provide all they listed in the publication”, he concluded.
