Accident kill four persons in Bauchi

The Bauchi state sector command of the Federal Road Safely Corps has confirmed the death of four persons that were involved in an auto crash in Bayara, along Bauchi-Dass road.

Daily Times gathered that some of the victims died on the spot while the rest were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi.

Eye witness however, said seven persons in the road crash when a Toyota Sienna conveying passengers steered off the road as a result of tyre burst.

Another resident of the area said some of the corpses recovered from the hospital have since been buried on Sunday morning.

The Public RelatIons officer of the Corps, Mr. Suleiman Rilwan who confirmed the incident maintained that only four people died in the accident contrary to the eyewitnesses account.

“It is true that the accident occurred, it happened at Bayara along Dass. It involved a Toyota bus conveying passengers. Our team confirmed that tyre burst was the cause of the crash. He said.

According to him, four perons died in a Toyota Sienna with registration ABC-983AH, adding that his men could not ascertain the name of the driver and the passengers.

Suleiman who noted that the accident happened at about 2:40pm on Saturday said, “our operatives took the victims to ATBUTH where they were confirmed dead.”
