Joe Allen reveals he’s a Manchester United fan!
The former Liverpool midfielder may have thrown his cult status at Anfield into jeopardy with his latest admission to a young Wales fan, admitting his love for the Red Devils
Despite Joe Allen upping sticks and moving to Stoke, he is still held in high regard at Liverpool.
The former Swansea midfielder spent four seasons with the Reds before joining Mark Hughes’s side and, although things haven’t exactly gone to plan so far this season, with the Potters in the relegation zone, Allen did at least enjoy a small personal highlight by scoring against Manchester United.
Or at least we thought he had enjoyed it.
Although the goal did his cult status at Liverpool no harm, the Welshman may have jeopardised that with his latest admission.
Speaking to a young Wales competition winner, who spent the day with his national heroes, Allen revealed that he in fact supported the Red Devils.
Allen said: “You know what, don’t tell anyone, but I was a Man U fan as well, so it was a bit tough for me to score that goal!”
