Oborevwori keeping faith with governance, campaign promises – Commissioner

The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu has described Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as a promise- keeper, saying that the Governor has been consistent in keeping faith with his campaign promises.

Mr. Aniagwu made the remarks on Friday during a media chat with reporters from Silver Bird, DBS, Asaba and Trend FM, in his office in Asaba, the state capital.

Elucidating on the MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori Administration, Mr. Aniagwu said that the MORE Agenda stands for Meaningful Development, Opportunity for all, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security which implementation, according to the Information Commissioner, was visible to all Deltans and residents of the state.

According to the Commissioner, the Governor has not only maintained the trajectory of sustaining projects of the previous administration but has gone ahead to do more for Deltans.

Aniagwu stated that the governance prowess of the Oborevwori administration is visible as he has initiated and completed meaningful projects in areas such as education, health, and road constructions and other infrastructure across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.

Speaking on the Awards given to the governor, the Commissioner said that the governor had received awards from ThisDay, Arise TV, Telegraph, Vanguard, Silver Bird as testament of his performance, people-oriented programmes and policies.

Aniagwu informed journalists present that many media houses and award giving institutions had wanted to give different awards to the governor but he advised otherwise as only few were accepted.

On children roaming about the streets, especially in the state capital, Aniagwu stated that the present administration had intervened through provision of hospitals, dispensaries, free primary education and a partly free secondary education, as well as providing an enabling environment for citizens to thrive.

He described abandonment of children by biological parents as criminal and immoral.

The Information commissioner used the medium to sensitize parents on the importance of good and sound upbringing of their children, as he pleaded with youths to equip themselves with vocational skills.
