The serving Senator representing Kebbi Central, Muhammadu Adamu Alieru has said that past 16 years of now opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were retrogressive and characterised by uncertainty, hopelessness and insecurity.
He made the statement in a press conference at Haliru Abdu stadium in Birnin Kebbi after he declared open a football competition organised by Kebbi Central youths to Honour him.
He maintained that the three years and eight months of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is far better than the 16 years of PDP misrule.
Alieru noted that past governments neglected infrastructure, which is now receiving attention from President Buhari’s government.
He mentioned Sokoto/Kwantagora road that was initiated by former President Goodluck Jonathan and abandoned at deplorable condition but now being constructed by the present administration.
He added that the APC laid railway lines from Kaduna to Abuja and Ibadan to Lagos from analogue to digital railways all within three years.
Speaking further, the former minister said a lot has been achieved in power sector with increase in megawatts and transmission across the country.
He pointed out that only the APC can take the country out of the woods, saying “Nigerians will not go back to the dark years of the PDP which brought hopelessness to the country during its reign”.
He called on electorates to return the ruling APC from bottom to the top for more progress and development.
