Gwagwalada Council boss commends FCTA’s policy advocacy programme

Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze, has lauded the ongoing policy advocacy and sensitisation exercise of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
The sensitisation programme is targeted at educating the residents of the Federal Capital Territory Administration on the policy and aspirations of the present administration as a means of bridging the gap of total ignorance, which causes disunity among the people.
Speaking during the FCTAs visit to Gwagwalada Area Council, Chairman of the Area council, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Kasim, said the public enlightenment exercise is all about giving the right information to the people.
Kasim said that information is very important because this is the only way that people at the grassroots level will be able to key into programmes that will be beneficial to them.
He said this when the Head of the Public Enlightenment team, Mrs. Josie Mudasiru, and her team paid a courtesy visit to the Area Council.
Mrs. Mudasiru told him about the Administration’s projects in road construction, agriculture, sanitation, security and education, stating that two of the newly approved schools are to be sited in Gwagwalada Area Council.
The Vice Chairman said they were happy with the Administration of Muhammad Musa Bello and his Permanent Secretary, Dr. Batope Ajakaiye, who flagged off the sale of farming implements on behalf of the Minister.
According to Kasim, the sale of farming tools at a subsidised rate has received commendation across the wards in our Area Council, adding “we have also asked our Agriculture and Natural Resources Department to support in line with the Minister’s effort’.
At the palace of the Aguma of Gwagwalada, HRH Mohammed Magaji, the team was received by the District Head, Alhaji Mohamadu Lakai.
The District Head said they were happy with the message from the administration. He said it is more than a message because majority of the policies favour the people of Gwagwalada Area Council, but however called on the FCT Minister to look into the cost of education in the FCT.
At the Government Day Secondary School, Mrs. Josie Mudasiru asked the students to shun cultism and all forms of vices that will hinder them from making progress in the future.
She urged them to walk hard in their academics so that they can benefit from the administration’s Scholarship scheme.
Mudasiru also educated the students about the 112 emergency number, how and when to use him.
At the palace of the of the Agora of Zuba, HRH, Bello Umar, the traditional ruler commended the FCT Minister’s service delivery and urged him to site one of the two schools meant for Gwagwalada Area Council in Zuba.
He also commended the Minister for the continuation of road projects and asked that the old road that passed through Zuba to Lokoja be rehabilitated. He thanked the team for the visit.
Responding, Mrs Mudasiru said the beauty of the public enlightenment exercise is not only to inform the residents about the FCT Administration’s policies, but to also get appropriate and genuine feedback that will assist the FCT Administration in its continuous quest for effective service delivery.
