Moyes makes case for Anichebe
Sunderland AFC manager and head coach David Moyes says the club are in need of Nigeria international Victor Anichebe’s services.
The striker has been out nursing an injury which he sustained in January 2017 and he been undergoing his rehabilitation in the United States of America (U.S.A).
“We hope that Victor could be back and maybe Catts (Lee Cattermole),” Moyes told reporters.
“I think Catts could get some training in but the one we’re really looking to see if we can get back is Victor.
“There are no guarantees but I know Victor’s doing a bit more running and hopefully getting closer,” he said.
“My bigger worry is how they can get a level of match fitness to make a difference and help us in such a short time.
“I have to hope that we can get them back and give ourselves another dimension, even if it’s getting them back off the bench late on,” he added.
The Black Cats are currently battling relegation in the English Premier League (EPL) with 10 matches left this season.
