DELTA State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has advised the management of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to sell the strength of the station to Nigerians so that they can truly appreciate the services been rendered by the station.
Mr. Ukah gave this advise in Asaba on Tuesday when he visited the General Manager of NTA Asaba, Engr. (Mrs.) Olorode Omolola, in her office.
The Commissioner for Information stated that NTA has the highest number of viewers in the country as it is watched daily by majority of the people as only a few rich persons can afford to buy decoders to view cable networks.
While appreciating the services been offered members of the public by the station, he however noted that the NTA can do better than it is doing now.
Mr. Ukah said that the state government can assist the station as much as it can, but pointed out that the burden can not be carried alone by the state government as the resources available now is nothing compared to what was obtainable in the past.
In her response, Mrs. Omolola thanked the Information Commissioner for the visit and the advise, promising that the management and workers of the station will work harder to improve on its services to the public.
