FCIU won’t miss ‘Super 4 title’, says Gata

FC IfeanyiUbah (FCIU) forward, Ismaila Gata has said his side will contest the podium dance at the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 4 competition.
The annual football showpiece for continental teams, Enugu Rangers, Rivers United, FC IfeanyiUbah and Wikki Tourists will hold in Enugu from Wednesday, December 07 – 11.
The Anambra Warriors will square up against Wikki Tourists in today’s NPFL Super 4 matchday 1 clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Gata who clarified that he remains a full-fledged player of FCIU said his side have qualities to see them through the hurdles irrespective of the expected stiff opposition from other participants.
“First and foremost let me state clearly that right now I’m still a bonafide player of FC IfeanyiUbah.
“Of course, we are thinking of nothing other than the title at the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 4 in Enugu.
“We are going for the trophy irrespective of the expected challenge from other participants including league champions, Enugu Rangers.
“We hope to kick-start the title chase on a winning note against Wikki Tourists today.
“We hope that the NPFL Super 4 will put us on good stead for the campaign at the continent and domestic league,” said the former Niger Tornadoes and 3SC goal poacher.
Both FCIU and Wikki Tourists will represent the country at Africa’s second tier club championship, CAF Confederation Cup while the duo, Enugu Rangers and Rivers United will campaign in the CAF Champions League.
