AD Candidate, Olusola Oke, Flags Off Campaign In Ondo, As Party Resolves Candidacy Tussle

Olusola Oke, the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ondo state has been presented with the flag of the party ahead of the November 2016, gubernatorial election in the state.
Moreover, the legal tussle threatening his [Oke] candidacy as the standard bearer of the party has finally been laid to rest following petition in court over his membership title.
Mr. Oke was presented with the symbol of the party by its National Leaders at the flag off campaign rally held at the democracy park in Akure, the state capital.
The Daily Times correspondent reported that the campaign rally witnessed massive turn out of cheering crowds despite the scorching sun.
Speaking at the event, the National legal adviser of the party, Kehinde Aworele, said he was in court based on misunderstanding that brought in Mr. Olusola Oke as the candidate of the party.
Mr. Aworele said he has, however, agreed to back down on the case by throwing his support behind the emergence of Mr. Oke as the next governor of the state,
He disclosed the Alliance for Democracy (AD) remained an indivisible party noting that he would withdraw the case file against Mr. Oke sent to the court.
“There is no more case in court as we have resolved the issues raised and I can assure you that Olusola Oke will be the next governor of this state.
“Oke means mountain in yoruba language, like his name he is on top and Ondo state will be on top, Yorubaland is on top.
“No matter how tall an Iroko tress may be, it cannot be taller than the mountain, Olusola Oke is on top and he will win”, the legal adviser added.
Senator Mojisola Akinfenwa said Olusola Oke has paid his dues in the political history of Ondo state by tapping from the policies of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Pa Michael Adekunle Ajasin.
He described the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) as a core protégée of the two late formal nationalists.
Senator Akinfenwa maintained that if the people elect Mr. Oke as next governor of the state he would ensure the sunrise again in Ondo state.
“For thirteen years, we have been in the wilderness, now it has pleased God to give us a leader that is capable of putting Ondo back on tracks.
“If you look at the PDP, it is full of crises, people deceive people, and they are at each other’s throats. The APC too is not faring better, they are amalgamation of strange bedfellows who cannot deliver on their promises.
“But we are happy today that the party of papa Obafemi Awolowo, that of Papa Adekunle Ajasin and Papa Adebayo Adefarati is here and I want you all to vote for the AD”.
The AD national leader assured that Chief Ok would replicate all the good programs and policies once initiated by the late Nationalists during their lifetime on earth.
“He will revamp our education, bring back the revival of our agricultural sector, education shall also be brought back to reckoning” he said.
Chief Joseph Avazi, the National Chairman of the party, said a new dawn would soon birth in Ondo state adding that the Alliance for Democracy was prepared to restore the lost glory of the state.
Avazi pleaded with the people to vote en mass for the Olusola Oke in the November gubernatorial election of the state.
“We have ruled this state before, this is our second coming and we shall not disappoint you”, he said.
Olusola Oke, the governorship hopeful said he was committed to the well being of the people of the state.
Mr. Oke promised to give abandoned infrastructures in the state a facelift if elected into government.
“Let me assure traders that we will provide enabling environment, we will ensure that our women are giving trading facility, our children will be employed, our hospital will look better, our schools will wear a new look, our University of Technology in Okitipupa, all our Universities in Ondo State will be giving lift face” he said.
