Olabiyi Rallies Team Mates
Rasheed Olabiyi has said that their stuttering start to this season’s campaign in the Glo Premier League with 3SC is something he never expected and charged his team-mates to wake up from their apparent slumber.
The 3SC midfielder believes that the Ibadan club has got a fairly decent playing personnel to compete with the best in Nigeria’s topflight.
But Olabiyi is now rallying his teammates to stand up and be counted, and leave no room for any margin of errors in their next league match.
“It is not the kind of start we had hoped for this season. We have played two games and lost the two games.
“Going forward we have to be very focused, tight at the back and also take our scoring chances in matches, which we have failed to do in those two matches.
“There is a lot of work to be done in the team. But I still believe we have a very strong team that can match any other in the league,” Olabiyi said.
The player joined 3SC as a free agent at the start of the season having ended his time at Enyimba.
This is the first time since the 2009/10 season when 3SC have failed to win their opening two games in the Nigerian topflight.
