500,000 teachers: Ogun Senator offers free ICT programme

In other to assist unemployed graduates from his Senatorial District, the Senator representing Ogun Central, Dr. Lanre Tejuoso, has initiated an information and communication technology (ICT) aid programme for applicants in the 500,000 teachers scheme of the Federal Government.
Speaking to some Journalists at his Constituency Office in Isabo, Abeokuta, the Coordinator of the Information and Communication Technology, ICT department, Mr. Segun Shennaike, said the training which will run for two weeks is absolutely free and its targets are unemployed graduates.
Shennaike, who spoke on behalf of the Senator opined that no fewer than 1,500 applicants have registered since the portal opened last Monday.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari launched the initiative, nicknamed N-Power Teach, to provide two-year paid employment for job seekers.
He noted that in view of the challenges inherent in the online application for positions, Senator Tejuoso decided to provide free Internet and computer services for applicants and make the process more accessible.
The coordinator added that there was no discrimination against any applicant that approached the constituency for free registration, which would be run for two weeks.
