38 year-old teacher on the rocks for raping pupil

A 38-year-old teacher by the name Ifeanyichukwu Nwasike, on Monday, has been arraigned at Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly abusing his four-year-old pupil.

Nwasike, who resides at No. 13 Mofowoku St, Akoka Lagos, was charged with defilement.

The counsel for the plaintiff, ASP Nurudeen Thomas, told the court that Mr Nwasike committed the offence three months ago at his residence.

ASP Thomas said that the offence was in breach of the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Mr Nwasike in his plea, plead not guilty to the charges.

Chief Magistrate P.E. Nwakpa admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Nwakpa ordered that one of the sureties must be a GL12 officer, who is expected to produce evidence of three years tax payment.

The case has been adjourned until Aug. 17 for hearing.
